Byraganahalli, Sidlaghatta : ಶಿಡ್ಲಘಟ್ಟ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಬೈರಗಾನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಸಮೀಪ ಇರುವ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ನೀಲಗಿರಿ ತೋಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶನಿವಾರ ಮದ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಅವಘಡ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿ, ನೀಲಗಿರಿ ಮರಗಳು ಧಗ-ಧಗನೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿ ಉರಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಕೆನ್ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅತ್ಯಮೂಲ್ಯ ಸಸ್ಯ, ನೀಲಗಿರಿ ಮರಗಳು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಕರಕಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಗಾಳಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಿಸಿಲಿನ ತಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಜ್ವಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಅರ್ಧ ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ವರೆಗೂ ಹೊಗೆ ಆವರಿಸಿದ್ದು, ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಹಬ್ಬುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ನಂದಿಸಲು ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕದಳದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಒಂದಡೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದಡೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಲು ಹರಸಾಹಸ ಮಾಡುವಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು.
ಅರಣ್ಯ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ತಗುಲಿ ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಅರಣ್ಯ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಅಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೈತರ ಜಮೀನುಗಳಿಗೂ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಆವರಿಸಿದ್ದು , ಬೆಂಕಿ ನಂದಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ದಳದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ದಳದ ಎಎಫ್ ಎಸ್ ಓ ಕದಿರಪ್ಪ, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಾದ ಮುನಿಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ಪ, ರಾಥೋಡ್, ಅಶೋಕ್, ಕಾಡಯ್ಯ, ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್, ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಬೆಂಕಿ ನಂದಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.
Devastating Fire in Government Nilgiri Grove Causes Significant Damage
Byraganahalli, Sidlaghatta : On Saturday afternoon, a devastating fire accident broke out in the Government Nilgiri grove near Byraganahalli in Sidlaghat taluk, causing significant damage to the forest area. The blaze, which quickly spread due to the intense heat of the wind and sun, burnt the Nilgiri trees to the hilt, destroying the most valuable plant in the forest.
The flames, which spread up to half a kilometer, were accompanied by thick smoke, making it difficult for fire brigade personnel to contain the fire. While they tried to extinguish the blaze on one side, it continued to rage on the other side, causing widespread damage to the forest wealth.
The fire also spread to the farmers’ lands on the edge of the forest, adding to the devastation. However, the fire brigade personnel managed to control the situation and prevented the fire from causing further damage.
AFSO Kadirappa, along with staff members such as Munikrishnappa, Rathod, Ashok, Kadaiya, Srinivas, Manjunath, and other villagers, were present at the scene, working tirelessly to put out the fire.
The loss of such a significant portion of forest wealth is a cause for concern, and efforts must be made to prevent such accidents in the future. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and the need for measures to be taken to prevent fires from causing extensive damage to our environment.
