Independent Candidate Anjinappa Puttu Urges Voters to Prioritize Development over Party Loyalties

Sidlaghatta : In a passionate address to thousands of supporters gathered at the “Shidlaghatta Janate Swabhimani Samavesha,” independent candidate Anjinappa Puttu made a compelling case for his candidacy, emphasizing his commitment to developing the backward town over blind party allegiances. The event took place near the Indian Palace, close to the Hittalahalli Gate in the taluk, on Sunday.

Hailing from a farming family, Puttu emphasized that a farmer’s son or a common man should not be excluded from the possibility of becoming an MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly). He criticized the Congress party for allegedly granting B.Form only to business people and highlighted his own service to the people, distancing himself from the Congress High Command.

Asserting that the power to vote lies with the people rather than the nobles, Puttu appealed to voters to consider his track record of organizing health camps, surgeries, and talent awards. He expressed his disappointment with the Congress high command, claiming they had unjustly denied him a ticket despite his popularity among the people. According to a survey conducted by the Congress party, 73 percent of respondents favored Puttu, yet only 3 percent were reflected in the party’s decision.

Puttu urged voters to break free from party affiliations and consider candidates based on their responsiveness to people’s problems, past achievements, and commitment to the constituency’s development. He drew attention to the lack of essential facilities in Shidlaghat city, such as water supply, overflowing drains, and public toilets, emphasizing the need for change and progress in the taluk.

Highlighting issues such as inadequate local hospitals, inefficiencies in government offices, and substandard government schools, Puttu questioned the role of the incumbent MLA in addressing these concerns. He stressed the importance of electing candidates with a genuine desire to serve the people and improve their lives, urging voters to prioritize the future of their children and the development of their constituency.

Noting that this election represents a fight for self-respect and an opportunity to voice grievances, Puttu reminded voters of their power in a democratic system. He advocated for casting votes based on merit and service, rather than allowing business interests or criminal backgrounds to sway their decisions.

Reflecting on his own journey, Puttu described his political career, which began with winning Gram Panchayat elections. He presented himself as a public servant who has always been accessible to the people and emphasized that the position of MLA should not be seen as an unreachable dream for public servants.

In conclusion, Puttu appealed to voters to consider the value of their votes, urging them not to compromise their self-esteem by selling their votes for trivial gains. He positioned himself as a dedicated public servant, likening his service to that of a devoted son serving his household. Through his address, Puttu aimed to rally support and secure votes based on his track record of service and dedication to the welfare of the people.
